The
savings that low energy light bulbs offer
Low
energy light bulbs (or lamps) provide many benefits when compared
to their standard incandescent counterparts. Compact fluorescent
bulbs will use only around 11 watts of power to generate the same
light as a normal 60 watt light bulb. (view the table below for
further wattage comparisons) These bulbs can save a user up to
80% on electricity bills over the life of the lamp, which can
last up to 5 years (or approximately 10,000 hours) As these bulbs
use less electricity, green house gases that thin the ozone layer
are reduced. Fluorescent bulbs have no filament. They are in fact
a tube with gases inside. These lamps are perfect for areas that
need to be left on for a long period of time such as overnight
on landings etc.
