Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

From the 1st of July 2007, the UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations will give members of the public the opportunity to deposit their old electrical items for recycling.

Warmmead Electrical Ltd (and associated websites) is a member of the Distributor Take Back Scheme (DTS) and has made a financial contribution toward the development of WEEE collection points throughout the UK. These collection points, known as Designated Collection Facillities (DCFs) are located throughout the UK at civic amenity sites (often referred to as 'household waste recycling centre' or the 'local tip')

At Warmmead Electrical Ltd we encourage our customers to recycle as much of their waste as possible. Contributing to the above scheme will help the development of recycling within the UK and provides valuable information to our customers on recycling electrical and electronic equipment. Being a DTS member means that we do not have to accept returned (waste) products for recycling. This saves both the time and money of our customers who would usually have to pack up the product and pay for the return of the item. Instead our customers can visit www.recycle-more.co.uk to locate their nearest Designated Collection Facillity.

Products that are covered by the new WEEE regulations should always be marked with the 'wheelie-bin' logo below. These products are suitable for depositing at a Designated Collection Facillity, where it will be stripped down and recycled.

Warmmead Electrical Ltd (and associated websites) actively encourage environmentally friendly approaches to our business ethos. Where possible we recycle our waste products and re-use packing materials when dispatching orders. We have developed our low-energy range of products (found at www.low-energy-lighting.com) and have attended low energy fairs, promoting energy efficiency throughout the home.
